Harira recipe for new mother

Indian homes harira is specially given to women who have jus had babies as it is a testy and nutritious diet. The ingredients present in harira are very helpful for a new mother.



Ingredients

Gur- 100 grams

Ghee- 1 to 11/2tbsp

Saunth powder- 1 tsp

Jeera powder- 1 tsp

Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp

Almonds- 8 to 10

Cashew nuts- 8 to 10



How to make harira recipe

Break gur into pieces, take a utensil filled with water in propartion to the amount of gur. Put the pieces of gur in the utensil and boil till gur dissolves. Pour this water through a stell strainer.



Pour ghee in a pan and heat, put saunth powder. Jeera powder and turmeric powder then fry till a sweet smell is emitted. Pout the gur water in these spices.



Finely chop almond and cashew nuts then put them in the above mix. After the mix comes to a boil let it cook for 3-4 minutes.



Sweet-smelling harira is ready. Serve half a bowl of harira to the new mother and give this same amount at moming or evening for the next 10 days.



How do you make harira for postpartum mothers?

Just boil water with jaggary till it melts, add good quantity of crushed nuts, the kevka spice mix, which is also good for lactating mothers and good amount of desi ghee. Haira gives warmth and energy to the body and helps the body to recover soon.
